Ryan Von Ahn and Trevor Connolly capture 2009 CNFR team roping title
Casper, WY – The game plan for the team from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, in Durant, Oklahoma, was to “catch them all clean.” Ryan Von Ahn and Trevor Connolly executed their plan to perfection to win the 2009 College National Finals Rodeo team roping championship on June 21, 2009.
A four-head average time of 30.1-seconds sealed the championship for Von Ahn and Connolly. Remarkably, they were the only team to rope all four steers by two feet, resulting in a 2.7-second lead over the second place.
“We just wanted to make good clean runs,” explained Trevor Connolly.
The Fast Back teammates are good friends and by the following Tuesday they were back at work in Von Ahn’s hometown of Sac City, Iowa where they’ll spend the summer working and going to nearby rodeos.
